This work emerges from the encounter between a deep petrol blue and a pale sage green—two distant yet complementary chromatic presences.
The upper field is dense and atmospheric, a dark petrol tone reminiscent of a lightless sky, restrained and contemporary.
Below, a soft sage green opens the composition, cool and quiet, creating space, balance, and breath.
Between these two fields the cycle takes shape: a circular gesture drawn freehand with black oil pastel.
The mark rises from the lighter area and gently enters the darker one, crossing the chromatic boundary like an orbit that continuously returns to its center.
The line is textured and irregular, never seeking precision, but preserving the truth of movement and the material presence of the gesture.
The cycle unfolds mainly in the lower section, expanding upward with controlled energy.
It binds the two color fields together, allowing them to breathe as a single entity rather than opposing forces.
This work speaks of equilibrium, memory, and return.
A slow, measured rhythm that vibrates between depth and lightness, between density and openness.
The work is part of the Cycles series, an exploration of repetition, return, and transformation.
Each piece originates from the same gesture, yet appears differently each time—similar, but never identical—like recurring emotional states moving through time.
The vintage wooden frame, restored and finished in satin black with a worn inner gold trim, is an integral part of the work.
It defines a material boundary that enhances the sobriety of the colors and reinforces the dialogue between surface, gesture, and memory.
A dark orbit crosses the boundary between petrol blue and sage: a silent return, steady and suspended.
